JOB SUMMARY:
In this seasonal position you will act as a steward or stewardess to provide food, drinks, and entertainment as necessary. This position plays an important role in guest satisfaction as they are also responsible for checking on customers and helping to provide the best customer experience. On sightseeing cruises, a narrated tour is given by one of the boat crew. We will be looking for first mates. First mates have additional duties of helping tie up boat when docking and releasing lines when departing dock as well as being apart of the drug testing consortium.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service
- Greet guests
- Take and serve drink orders, partial food service, and keep tables tidy at all times
- Quickly clean up in between cruises and set up for food cruises in a timely manner
- Deliver checks and collect payments
- Cooperate and communicate with coworkers, caterer and caterer staff, supervisors, and front desk staff
- U.S. Coast Guard safety training
- Provide information to customers on cruises with a narrated tour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A passion for being outside and by the river
- Driver’s License
- Outgoing, organized, and a clear communicator
- Familiar working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with a cash register and card machine
- Team player
- High school diploma required; relevant coursework from an accredited college or university strongly preferred
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, evenings, opening, and closing shifts as necessary
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed while standing, sitting, or walking with occasional bending, reaching, and the lifting and occasional carrying of boxes weighing up to 25lbs. Work is performed in an adequately ventilated and lighted boat. This position is both an indoor and outdoor job with occasional exposure to a variety of other tasks that include outdoor conditions and exposure to weather. PAY:
Split tips with all crew onboard each cruise.
.50 per hour worked bonus for working through end of season
