Data Entry Specialist, Student Affairs

Job Summary:  The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for entering data into a variety of formats and computer programs, generating documents and reports requiring program area knowledge.

         Enters data from forms, records and/or reports using Banner student database

         Assists with enrollment verifications

         Assist with registration functions

         Awarding of certificates and/or processing withdrawals and transcripts

         Assists with special functions, projects and activities

5%

         Other duties as assigned.

         Communicates with current, perspective, alumni, and general public via phone, email, text and in person

Competencies:

         Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education

         Knowledge of relevant college, state and federal policies

         Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs

         Oral and written communication skills

         Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public

         Decision making and problem-solving skills

Minimum Qualifications:

         An Associate degree *and* three years of work experience

         Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies, and requires business attire and professionalism.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

This is a full-time position.  This position occasionally requires longer hours and some weekend work.
