Data Entry Specialist, Student Affairs

Job Summary: The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for entering data into a variety of formats and computer programs, generating documents and reports requiring program area knowledge.
• Enters data from forms, records and/or reports using Banner student database
• Assists with enrollment verifications
• Assist with registration functions

• Awarding of certificates and/or processing withdrawals and transcripts

• Assists with special functions, projects and activities

• Other duties as assigned.

• Communicates with current, perspective, alumni, and general public via phone, email, text and in person

Competencies:
• Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education
• Knowledge of relevant college, state and federal policies
• Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
• Oral and written communication skills
• Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
• Decision making and problem-solving skills
Minimum Qualifications:
• An Associate degree *and* three years of work experience
• Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies, and requires business attire and professionalism.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires longer hours and some weekend work.
Travel
Travel to other campus locations is required. Some overnight travel may be required.
