Overview:
We are a local utility construction contractor seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Data Entry Clerk. As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately inputting and maintaining various types of data into different company software systems.
Duties:
- File and organize documents for easy retrieval both paper and digital
- Scan and digitally organize documents in various company databases
- Collect data from various sources and enter it into the system
- Transcribe information from paper documents or digital files in the areas of accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices, payroll and other various business functions
- Type and enter data into computerized databases or spreadsheets
- Verify data for errors or discrepancies and make necessary corrections
- Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed
- Setup new vendors and clients information in company databases
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in Data Entry or related administrative roles
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Preferred Skills:
- File management: Organizing documents for easy retrieval.
- Digital file management: use of cloud based file sharing software such as OneDrive or Dropbox
- Data collection: Gathering information from various sources.
- Transcription: Accurately converting information from one format to another.
- Basic math: Performing simple calculations to ensure accuracy.
- Typing: Entering data quickly and accurately.
- Computer skills: Proficient in using computer software and databases.
- Data entry: Inputting data into computer systems accurately.
- Administrative: Assisting with general administrative tasks.
- Clerical: Performing routine office duties.
- Accounting and/or payroll entry background a plus
- Experience in a construction setting a plus
This is a contract position with the potential to evolve into a full-time role.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Pittsburgh, PA 15224: Relocate before starting work (Required)
