Job Overview:
As a Cytology Lab Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Cytology Laboratory. This includes supervising a team of cytotechnologists, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining the highest quality in cytology services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cytotechnology, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a culture of excellence.
Responsibilities:
-Lead and manage a team of cytotechnologists to ensure efficient and accurate workflow.
-Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to staff members.
-Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
-Oversee the quality control and quality assurance programs within the Cytology Laboratory.
-Implement and enforce laboratory protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy and precision in diagnostic results.
-Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including ASCP guidelines.
-Coordinate and manage daily laboratory activities, ensuring timely completion of cytology processes.
-Collaborate with other laboratory departments to facilitate seamless workflow.
-Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
-Stay abreast of industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in cytology.
-Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field.
- ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist is required.
- Minimum of seven years of experience as a Cytotechnologist, with progressive responsibilities.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cytology techniques, methodologies, and laboratory operations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic laboratory environment.
