Health Benefits Associates educates its clients on their health insurance options and shops every insurance carrier in Northern Nevada to find the best coverage at the most affordable price to suit our customers’ needs. We specialize in Medicare, small business health insurance, and individual and family plans.
As a Customer Service Representative for Health Benefits Associates, you will act as the liaison between our clientele and our team of licensed insurance agents. To be successful in your role as a Customer Service Representative, you should pay attention to detail and demonstrate proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and CRM databases. Bilingual preferred. You should also maintain professionalism and achieve outstanding Customer Service.
What you can expect in the Customer Service Representative role at Health Benefits Associates:
- Provide administrative support primarily for your direct supervisor and occasionally to other licensed agents. This includes building illustrations through an online quoting platform and communicating with insurance companies regarding administrative tasks.
- Answer and direct phone calls of clients and vendors.
- Greet and assist clients/visitors in the office.
- Organize and schedule appointments and meetings, as well as calling appointments to confirm.
- Carry out administrative duties for the office to include but not limited to filing, copying, binding, scanning, ordering supplies, emptying the dishwasher, sending thank you cards…
- Input client data into an online Customer Relationship Management system. You will maintain confidentiality.
- Assist in processing paperwork for group clients and sending confirmation to the broker on the account. This would include employee enrollments and terminations for group clients.
- Help organize and plan for specific events our office hosts.
- Participate in regular performance reviews.

Benefits and Retirement Package
- Starting Salary: $17-$23/ hour based on education and experience
- Benefits and Retirement Packages:
- Health Benefits Associates offers medical, dental, and vision effective the first of the month following 60 days of employment. The company contributes 70% towards employee’s premium. If you elect an HSA compatible plan, Health Benefits Associates will match up to $1,000 of your contribution. (subject to change)
- You will be eligible for our 401K, Life and Disability following 6 months of employment. Health Benefits Associates will match up to the first 6% of your 401K contribution.

Skills and Experience
- Proven admin or assistant experience
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficient in MS Office (ie. Excel and Word)
- Proficient in general computer use (ie. Web searches, typing, Adobe PDF’s)
- Ability to learn new online systems (training provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred but not required
This position has been the starting position for the most successful brokers in our office. Many Customer Service Representatives eventually get licensed and end up selling insurance, if they choose to, after they’re comfortable with the business. We encourage all employees to grow here, and we do not limit the amount you can earn in this organization for sales positions.
