PURPOSE OF FUNCTION
- Provide direction and supervision for production department to ensure pallets are produced within defined objectives and customer’s requirements
- Plan production schedules, estimate costs and prepare budgets to meet required deadlines
- Ensure production practices are aligned with standards, vision, and values of KraftPal
- Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for workers by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.
- Ensure safe working conditions, and follow labor laws for employees in production, warehouse, and other areas
- Ensure smooth and consistent functioning and uptime of Palletonator production lines
ASSIGNMENT
Production management
- Manage and supervise production in local production unit
- Organize shifts, production schedule and worker’s schedule
- Ensure that LPU produces the required quantity of quality products
- Plan production and allocate machine capacity to meet production goals through production orders
- Coordinate production order scheduling
- Group production orders to minimize downtime
- Prepare daily production reports and include records of all stops, malfunctions, and repairs
- Monitor Palletonator production lines, production process, tools, and work of machine operators
- Minimize waste through careful use of raw materials
Performance
- Meet or exceed productivity, cost, and other metric expectations
- Implement and maintain best manufacturing practices
- Monitor and review the performance of production team and equipment performance to organize necessary interventions for improvement
- Track and analyze implementation of production orders
- Coordinate scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, minimize inventory, and to reduce costs
- Analyze manufacturing operations and identify areas of improvement
- Track production costs and manage production budget on the LPU level
- Monitor and evaluate production operating results in comparison to business plan
- Analyze manufacturing operations and identify areas of improvement
Quality
- Responsible for maintaining process quality in accordance with quality standards
- Manage raw material quality issues with suppliers
- Investigate and manage finished goods issues and causes
- Duly manage and archive incoming raw material and finished goods quality control reports
- Support quality initiatives
- Maintain technical documentation in accordance with established procedure in KraftPal
- Implement all necessary measures coming from KraftPal Quality Assurance Department
Inventory
- Track and analyze stock levels of raw material
- Ensure safety stock of raw material
- Organize quarterly and yearly inventory analysis
- Prepare inventory reports
- Reorder raw material according to established procedures
Maintenance
- Regularly inspect production equipment to diagnose possible malfunctions
- Analyze machine operation and investigate any sub-optimal performance to identify and troubleshoot
- Coordinate and implement regular maintenance procedures
- Work and coordinate closely with HMEs technical support personnel in ensuring all preventing and corrective measures are being correctly implemented on a machine level
- In case of detected major problems with machinery, stop the process and coordinate repair closely with HMEs technical support personnel
- Keep records and track stocks of spare-parts for all machinery and order parts when necessary
Site management
- Ensure production site compliance with all regulations, especially fire and safety
- Maintain awareness and comply with waste management and environmental management requirements in the workplace
Safety
- Ensure compliance with regulations
- Ensure adhere to safety measures and procedures in the operations area
- Ensure timely regular inspection of people safety on operation floors
- Ensure timely regular inspection of production equipment (i.e., compressors)
- Ensure safe storage and proper labelling of hazardous materials and liquids
- Ensure production area is safe and clean
- Report on injuries, near miss situations, or other safety concerns
People Management
- Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to meet production goals
- Ensure all employees adhere to production standards and procedures applicable to manufacturing operation
- Direct and empower production team with resources they need to successfully complete tasks
- Organize, manage, and control work of the office manager
- Host regular meetings with production team to discuss plans and address concerns
- Identify and develop talents within the production team to secure succession planning
- Ensure appropriate trainings for new employees and refreshment courses for existing employees
- Foster and encourage a positive, motivated work environment
Other
- Report to the General Manager LPU

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Manufacturing Management or in a technical field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team remotely and onsite
- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English and Spanish is a plus
