Job Description
Overview: For this role you must have expertise in English language arts, with sufficient knowledge to support additional subject areas. You will be responsible for the development of new assessment content, the continuous improvement of existing content, the creation of custom assessments, and professional development offerings. You may also lead projects or participate in innovative projects or research.
In this role, you will:
- Write or specify new content based on content priorities
- Review new content submitted by external and internal writers
- Contribute to department guidelines
- Provide guidance on the resolution of complex feedback reports and new item requests
- Analyze new standards in relation to existing standards and existing content
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in education or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related subject area
- Knowledge of ELA standards
- Ability to write for the needs of the specified audience
- Ability to research topics related to literacy
- Well-developed time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision when necessary
- Proactive problem-solving ability
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and escalating issues that put deliverables at risk
- Work process that is detail-oriented while maintaining a grasp of the big picture
- Commitment to being a collaborative, team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Proactive about improving professional competencies
- Highly ethical, principled, trustworthy, and conscientious
Bonus points for:
- Knowledge of editorial processes including but not limited to developmental editing
- Experience creating educational materials (assessment preferred) in a professional publishing setting
- Experience developing and/or delivering teacher professional development
- Experience working with Emergent Bilingual students and English Language Development standards
- Experience managing projects or people
Additional Information
Salary Range: $46,000-60,000
This range is based on national market data and may vary by location.
