Lead Teacher

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for participating on a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curiculum, and managing the day to day operarational activities of the classroom. Teachersmust be team players who understand childrens cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment.
Duties:
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practice and early learning standards.
- Plan and execute compelling, age-appropriate activities daily lessons that encourage learning growth.
- Plan individual and group age appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom enviroment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness statndards and safety and security of children.
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, daily progress reports, and parent teacher conference.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in monthly staff meeting, weekly supervision, and trainings required by funders.
Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of and oriented to the philosophy of the Agency as presented in the Mission Statement.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and ro foster a team enviroment.
- A strong under standing of child development.
- Knowledgeof crisis intervention, child abuse reporting, and de-escalation techniques.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/Child CPR, Pediatric First Aid, and Fire Safety Certification.
- Must have all clearences (Child Abuse, FBI, and Criminal Background).
- Must pass health screening, and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to sit on the floor/groundsurfaces with children, as appropriate, and small children furniture.
Educational:
CDA or Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education.
ECE Required.

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
