Summary: Under the direction of the Loan Servicing Manager, the Consumer Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for the electronic and physical credit files, securing lien positions on pledged collateral, working with loan officers and other departments on loan specific documentation, and reviewing loan documents to verify accuracy. Quality assurance surrounding the onboarding of loans, servicing of existing loans, and payoff processing is crucial to the success of this position. In addition, this position serves as a customer service representative for Loan Servicing, assisting internal and external customers.
Essential Functions: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains and reviews new, current and paid loan files, verifies accuracy, and sorts and codes according to electronic and physical filing structures.
- Maintains exception report for documentation exceptions and technical loan exceptions.
- Maintain collateral register for physical collateral stored in the collateral vault.
- Takes questions from customers and internal employees on the phone, through e-mail, and in person, investigates and corrects errors.
- Assist Banking Centers and lending officers with questions regarding loan files and exceptions.
- Serve as title clerk, record and release liens on mortgages, titles and UCC’s. Ensures the proper lien position is obtained for specific collateral. Reviews all collateral documentation
- Maintains tickler system for tracking financial statements, insurance and UCC’s.
- Balances internal accounts
- Maintains quality control reporting on new mortgage loans and all Investor quality control reporting
- Functions as a backup to Credit File Documentation Specialist
Education: A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
