Billing Specialist
Summary: The Billing Specialist is a professional responsible for managing the organization's financial transactions, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and handling billing-related inquiries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assume the responsibility of receiving and sorting incoming payments with attention to credibility
- Manage the status of accounts and balances and identify inconsistencies
- Ensure appropriate funding is allocated to individual participants via payment authorization for waiver services (PAWS).
- Update Excel spreadsheets to reflect accurate information for the county boards of DD participants and communicate with Medicaid Specialists
- Submit payments weekly for participant services performed via the DODD system
- Follow up with the provider for billing concerns
- Update the accounts receivable database with new accounts or missed payments
- Maintains confidential nature of information obtained through Courageous Community Services, Inc.; exercises discretion in handling confidential and privileged information
Confidential data and information handled:
The applicant has access to the background and personal information of individual campers. All information is confidential.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (associate degree preferred)
- At least two years experience in managing accounts receivable
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
- A high degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
- Must be proficient in Google Workspace
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Committed to the mission of serving individuals with disabilities
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain detailed records and confidential information
Pay Details:
