Pay: $30 / hr - $35 / hr DOE

What's a typical day as a Compensation & Benefits Specialist? You'll be:
• Analyzing and processing complex workers compensation claims by investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Handling a full case load, with proven ability to handle cases of increased severity.
• Managing claims through well-developed action plans to ensure timely and cost-effective resolutions.
• Calculating and assigning timely and appropriate reserves to claims; managing reserve adequacy throughout the life of the claim.
• Calculating and paying benefits due; approving and making timely claim payments and adjustments; and settling claims within designated authority level.
• Coordinating vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management.
• Using appropriate cost containment techniques including strategic vendor partnerships to reduce overall cost of claims.
• Managing claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund excess recoveries, and Social Security and Medicare offsets.
• Reporting claims to the excess carrier.
• Communicating claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Ensuring claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
• Referring cases as appropriate to supervisor and management.

• Have experience managing claims through well-developed action plans.
• Possess strong analytical and interpretive skills.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Are PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
• Have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
