Position Overview:
As a Benefits and Compensation Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of our employee Benefits and Compensation programs. Reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources, you will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards while effectively managing various HR functions, including benefits administration, workers' compensation, job descriptions, COBRA administration, unemployment claims, WOTC, compliance, compensation analysis, salary banding, and serving as backup for payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely communication with employees.
- Handle workers' compensation claims process from initiation to resolution, collaborating with insurance providers and facilitating return-to-work programs to promote employee safety and well-being.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive job descriptions for all positions within the organization, ensuring alignment with current roles and responsibilities and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Oversee COBRA administration processes, including timely notifications and compliance with federal regulations, to facilitate smooth transitions for eligible employees.
- Handle unemployment claims and responses to inquiries from state agencies, maintaining records and documentation as required to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) applications and compliance efforts to maximize tax incentives for the organization while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Conduct compensation analysis and salary banding exercises to ensure competitive pay structures and alignment with industry standards, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Provide backup support for payroll processing activities, including data entry, validation, and resolution of payroll discrepancies, to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Previous experience in benefits administration, compensation analysis, or a similar role within Human Resources.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms and payroll processing systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity).
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to benefits, compensation, and payroll.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and conduct compensation analysis effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is a plus.
