Specialist, Company Travel Training and Documentation

We’re looking for an amazing Specialist, Company Travel Training & Documentation to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle or Miami offices. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of Training and lab objectives in coordination with management. You’ll also create, write, and review training programs including tiered course curriculums, handouts, examinations, and design practical exercises. This person will provide hands-on Training and lectures on various topics focusing within Travel Services. Typical challenges in this role includes understanding Visa/routing limitations, frequent changes in air schedules, while relying on manual procedures when systems are not functioning as intended.

Responsibilities
- Trains all Company and Crew Travel teams including onboarding, refreshers, coachings, position cross trainings etc. Teams will and may include: Corporate, Crew, Fleet, Entertainment, Dry Dock, Afterhours, Crew Hotel Relations, Hotel and Ground, and Teleperformance.
- Manages department documentation which includes creating new procedures, policies for existing procedures, including following standard format for assigned areas.
- Manages Team List and information.
- Monitors all Teleperformance expectations with calibration calls and trainings.
- Evaluates effectiveness of Training and recommends any needed refining of training curriculum while researching and recommending development of training aids including training handbooks, demonstration models, and multimedia visual aids.
- Delivers group and individual instruction and instructor led hands-on trainings/labs covering a range of policy/procedure, technical and operational curriculum in the specific field/discipline.
- Maintains administrative training records for each trainee in share drive and OneNote.
- Works within a set of guidelines and policies, with minimal independent approval authority to deviate from policies without approval from a supervisor or above.
- Collaborates with both Shoreside and Shipboard teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Please note that all internal changes & promotions are on hold until March 2024 while the Company goes through the merit increase process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required, Bachelor’s degree in related field (i.e. Travel, Tourism) preferred. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
- Ability to manage/use different systems including Avaya, MAPS, Sabre, Hotel Connect preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat functions preferred.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- May be asked to travel up-to 5%.
- 2-5 years-experience in a Corporate Travel Agency or equivalent environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Airline Global Distribution Systems (GDS) – preferred Sabre - required.
- Basic Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook knowledge required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

- Base Hourly Range: $18.32 to $24.71. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
