Overview of Position:
Under the supervision of the Chief Operations Officer, the Community Services Coordinator is responsible for the development, maintenance and supervision of facility use, district safety (including annual safety training for maintenance employees), in-district advertising, GIS Mapping, ID Badge Distribution, and related reporting. This coordinator works to support students, staff, community members, and the general public.
Responsibilities/Duties:
This person plans, organizes, and directs a variety of District programs to ensure compliance of state and federal laws and regulations and within district policies and procedures. The coordinator should be someone who is customer and results oriented, is a knowledgeable leader who thrives in a challenging work environment, and has a good understanding of K-12 operations. This person must work effectively with employees, parents, school administrators, community members, and the general public.
- Principles and methods of facility use management system;
- Principles and methods of GIS Mapping program;
- Understanding and maintenance of District Safety Program;
- Principles and practices of good leadership, supervision and training;
- Health and safety regulations;
- Record keeping and report preparation techniques, including federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing school safety programs;
- Inventory techniques and budget preparation;
- Oral and written communication skills;
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
Additional Job Functions:
- Plan, organize, coordinate, supervise and participate in the Community Services operations and activities district-wide;
- Train, supervise, and evaluate personnel;
- Operate and maintain Community service machines and equipment;
- Understand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; prepare and present oral presentations;
- Prepare a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities; meet scheduled timelines; interpret, apply, and explain policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to related assigned activities;
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others;
- Plan and organize work;
- Observe and follow regulations;
- Analyze operations and recommend and implement improvements;
- Assign and review the work of others.
Educational/Vocational Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in business or similar degree and three years experience in similar
department management OR an Associate degree and five years experience in similar
department management.
License:
Possession of a valid Oregon Operator's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
