Position Title:Communication & Events Specialist

SUMMARY
The Communication & Events Specialist will help our team by creating consistently community-driven content and executing a variety of events including our annual gala, golf tournament, ribbon cuttings, donor appreciation events and groundbreakings. Collaborating with stakeholders across NHS, the Communication & Events Specialist plays a key role in helping NHS share its story and develop meaningful engagements with donors, policymakers, community leaders, residents and board members.
On a regular day, you will coordinate and manage projects and special events following implementation through to execution. Develop communications and content for website, newsletters and other forms of media incorporating a message that draws the attention of prospects and raises awareness about NeighborWorks Housing Solutions to ensure consistent theme, messaging and branding. In addition, you will source vendors in preparation of events and represent the organization at events as a recognized contributor on our team. To succeed in this role, you should be able to creatively compose and tailor communication that connects with the intended audience and you are able to execute strategy to achieve desired results. You will be responsible for research, software and data management, planning, organization, budget/expenditure on-site management and post event follow-up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage NeighborWorks Housing Solutions’ annual events calendar in collaboration with fundraising, marketing, advocacy and real estate departments.
· Manage a portfolio of events including 2 annual fundraising events, groundbreaking events, ribbon cuttings, donor gatherings and other events as needed.
· Handle and execute all aspects of event planning and execution, including vendor management, site selection, content and program management, logistics and post event evaluation.
· Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders, ensuring brand and messaging consistency across all events.
· Fluent in fundraising software and data management etc.
· Drive internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement to ensure broad awareness of upcoming events, needs, expected outcomes and event success metrics.
· Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of industry best practices to bring innovative ideas to maximize engagement and participant value.
· Serve as an expert consultant for groups proposing new events, helping to conduct cost-benefit analyses, tease out desired goals and brainstorm best practices.
· Lead, grow and develop a talented team of external professionals.
· Manage, calculate and communicate financial and analytical reports to include the development of event strategy that will impact change for future events.
· Lead organizational efforts to continuously identify and implement the appropriate mix of technologies and vendors necessary to create incredible event experiences and increase efficiencies of event logistics.
· Work with NHS Board Fundraising Committee and CEO to create strategic event planning for fundraising, cultivation and community-focused events and engagement experiences to meet established goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
· 3-5 years of event management experience, preferably in the nonprofit environment
· Demonstrated experience executing a variety of events across wide-ranging goals, audiences and stakeholders
· Experience in Salesforce, Constant Contact, Greater Giving and/or other donor and event management tools
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Positive outlook and ability to work calmly under pressure
· Proven ability to use sound judgment to make decisions
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Technical knowledge and experience with audio-visual production
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
· Ability to plan and execute plans to meet deadlines
· Resourcefulness, creativity, adaptability and flexibility required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Work is performed in an office environment.

This is a hybrid position, and the Communication & Evenst Specialist should expect to be on-site at least 2 days per week in our Quincy location. Some work outside of regular business hours will be required.
