Position SummaryThe clinic Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations while adhering to regulatory standards and upholding our mission, vision, and values. With a commitment to exceptional patient care and adherence to regulatory standards, the clinic Receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors, handling incoming calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, administrative responsibilities, and maintaining accurate records. Their compassionate and courteous demeanor, coupled with their dedication to patient privacy and confidentiality, ensures a positive and welcoming experience for patients, families, and visitors. Minimum Education- High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
Experience- 1 year of prior experience in a medical or clinic setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Proficiency in medical terminology and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations, such as HIPAA.
- Strong computer proficiency and organizational abilities.
- Adaptability, attention to detail, and effective time management.
Physical Demands- Sitting: The role primarily involves sitting for extended periods while performing administrative tasks at a computer workstation or front desk.
- Standing: Occasional standing may be required when assisting patients at the reception area or providing directions.
- Lifting: Minimal lifting may be necessary when handling files or office supplies.
- Keyboard Use: Regular use of a computer keyboard for data entry and documentation.
- Vision: Good visual acuity for reading patient information, documents, and computer screens.
Working Conditions- Indoor Environment: The Clinic Receptionist works indoors in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Interaction: Regular interaction with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Noise Level: The work environment may include moderate levels of noise related to patient and staff interactions.
- Schedule: Typically follows regular business hours, but may include occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on clinic needs.
