The Client Development Specialistdrives improvements of the organization’s market position to achieve financial growth. This role researches and identifies new clients and business opportunities through social media, marketing leads, trade publications, and internal lapsed account lists. Cultivates relationships and identifies meaningful project leads and opportunities to be passed to the appropriate sales channel for enhanced growth and development. Partners closely with sales channels to ensure new relationships are serviced and are positioned to grow into top clients. Establishes and nurtures an initial connection with client from identification through handoff to the sales channels and beyond to ensure repeat business.
Primary Responsibilities
- All activities will be in line with acceptable practices in the assigned geographic areas with primary focus on US business and secondary focus on International business. Geographic or client type focus areas may change based on the needs of the business. Scope of this role may be cross channel, US and/or International in line with business needs.
- Prospect companies and elicit contacts of key influencers and project leads in specific markets via shelter magazines, social media, and personal network.
- Perform analysis of client prospects by geographic location and/or client type to determine appropriate outreach method and product information to be shared
- Build and cultivate prospect relationships through emails or by phone to move opportunities through the qualifying process and to the appropriate channel of business quickly.
- Follow up on e-mail/other client leads and workflow and reporting to ensure leads are managed consistently.
- Meet and interact with internal Client Development Manager and Team daily to share updates and details of current lead generation initiatives, and ensure timely follow ups on all activities
- Capture data for all leads and new prospects in company’s CRM database and shared files to ensure critical details are captured for long-term planning and to identify next steps in outreach process.
- Reconnect with lapsed client accounts in all sales channels and capture productivity in CRM.
- Transfer qualified leads to appropriate sales channel and enable development of relationship with appropriate and timely communication vehicles (e.g. email, phone, in office/showroom meetings).
- Review weekly/monthly sales reporting (pipeline and project status) provided by sales channels related to leads and provide analytics and insights into those leads, as applicable.
- Provide weekly/month highlights/metrics reporting as applicable
- Work as a company ambassador to build relationships, increasing business commitments, and networking at industry events as needed
- Assist and participate in client and industry events – including cocktail parties, small dinners and product launches as necessary
- This role is accountable for contributions toward the achievement of sales and revenue goals
- Supports other Lead Generation/Client Development responsibilities as assigned
Responsibilities
- Minimum of 3 years of outside/inside sales and/or business development experience in the high-end, luxury brand environment preferred
- Proven track record of consistently driving toward sales and marketing quotas and goals
- Desire to drive for results and comfortable with ambiguity, technology, and analytics
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational abilities and follow up is a must
- Ability to listen and translate client’s needs into sales
- Strong persuasion, negotiation skills and the ability to influence others; close sales transactions/deals
- Self -motivated and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Nimble with the ability to be flexible in duties and responsibilities in order to achieve goals
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including proficiency with Excel, CRM, and other sales tracking tools
- Plumbing and/or tile industry experience preferred
- Travel may be required up to 10% of the time to client meetings/industry events, showroom locations, and to corporate headquarters
