Civil Engineer (Transportation, Design)

Job Description

TekPro is partnered with a leading design firm in their search for a Civil Engineer to join their Milwaukee Transportation Team. If you're looking for the opportunity to work on engaging transportation infrastructure projects and a team-oriented environment, this is the role for you.

We're looking for an engineer with 4 years of experience in a similar role. Experience with CAD systems (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is preferred. Experience in plan preparation and construction administration is a plus. Prior experience on any State, Federal, or Local agency projects is desired. This position will require a technical background in at least one of the following areas: highway design, traffic engineering, roadway drainage & hydrology, and structural bridge engineering. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and Highway Capacity Manual is highly recommended.

Tasks

Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design.

Develop final design plans, including highway geometrics, cross sections, maintenance of traffic, erosion control, drainage, pavement marking and signing plans.

Assist in specifications, cost estimates, and the preparation of final PS&E packages.

Assist in design activities and meetings between staff, subcontractors, and client.

Construction administration of various projects to verify compliance to safety and quality standards.

Performing other tasks deemed necessary by the project manager from time to time.

Achieve client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications + Skills

BSCE Degree (or higher from) an ABET accredited institution with emphasis in roadway design.

EIT Certification is a plus!

Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design Software (AutoCAD / Civil 3D or MicroStation) is required.

Excellent technical communication skills

Ability to work independently.
