Job Description
The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for ensuring that all mining, processing, port, haulage, technical services, and other general services activities operate in accordance with all Company, statutory, and regulatory requirements in order to ensure their profitability and safety.
Responsibilities
Responsible for guiding the organization in ensuring compliance with its environmental, health, and safety system standards.
Establish and execute operating cost, capital, and physical budgets, as well as projections, in order to satisfy yearly corporate goals and optimize the value of the project.
Analyze performance and adapt to a fluctuating market by monitoring performance and optimizing production plans accordingly.
Design engineering, project management, and delivery services must be executed with precision and efficacy.
By serving on key steering committees, exert influence over product and technical development strategies.
Opportunity identification, resource provision, and action plan execution in order to meet EBIT/ROC objectives and actual performance. Special attention must be paid to opportunities that increase value.
Actively engage in the formulation of strategies pertaining to resource development, marketing, and product innovation.
Develop a financially responsible culture and cost management processes to oversee activity costs.
A well-coordinated communication and re-engagement strategy should be used to guarantee that the workforce is kept up to date on the organization's goals and objectives.
Provides assistance to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the management of relationships with external stakeholders by implementing a coordinated strategy, which may include participation at frequent meetings.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill:
Tertiary education in a recognized engineering, mining, or minerals processing discipline.
Proven ability to oversee the administration of complex mineral processing and mining operations, including the concurrent supervision of multiple sites.
Operating experience in Africa or a comparable environment.
Completion of a postgraduate program in finance or management.
Proficient technical expertise in the fields of mineral processing and mining.
Preferred experience of 15 to 20 years in a senior executive management capacity
Approaches operational and technical aspects of the business with innovation and strategic thinking.
Proficiency in mentoring and coaching subordinates to enhance their performance and influence.
The capacity to inspire and guide subcontractors and coworkers.
Proficiency in cultivating team members across all hierarchical levels, including the responsibility of designing structured training initiatives and offering assistance to augment the skill sets of personnel.
Acumen for relationship management and network development.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $139,000.00-$156,000.00 per year
