Job description

TSE, Inc. is dedicated to enriching lives through employment and community connections for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. With a legacy of excellence since 1961, we provide tailored training, support, and employment services to over 300 individuals across four training sites and numerous community businesses in the Metro area.

Job Summary:
As the Chief Operating Officer at TSE, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic growth. You will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of human resources and talent management functions within the organization. You will provide strategic and operational guidance on a diverse set of HR issues, and ensures implementation and application of agreed upon HR processes, systems, policies, and programs, as well as operational oversight and direction to the TSE Transportation Department.

What you’ll be doing

*Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with TSE’s mission and goals;

*Lead a standardized recruiting, talent acquisition and onboarding process;

*Manage all documentation processes related to employee files, safety, talent acquisition and engagement

*Maintain employee data in HRIS ensuring 100% data integrity;

*Execute biweekly payroll administration along with CFO

*Provide proactive employee relations to supervisors

*Coach team members on conflict resolution, disciplinary steps, setting objectives, performance management, and effective team leading skills:

*Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs, analyzing and recommending changes to ensure the organization remains competitive in attracting and retaining talent;

*Manage annual benefits open enrollment;

*Develop, implement and maintain required regulatory reporting, AAP, EEO, OSHA, etc.

*Ensure organizational compliance with labor laws including but not limited to DOL and EEO;

*Partner with employees and leaders to communicate policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations as needed

*Manage and maintain all worker’s comp, FMLA, disability and unemployment claims;

*Identify training needs and develop programs/plans to enhance the skills of staff;

*Facilitate professional development opportunities for employees;

*Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs;

*Maintain and implement staff and driver safety incentive programs;

*Participate as a member of the leadership team

*Attend professional organization meetings, conferences, and other events and represent the organization in strategic local, state, and national program conversations;

*Represent TSE’s best interests in developing and building cooperative relationships with the labor union;

*Participate in all phases of the grievance process and coordinate developing strategies and arbitration preparation

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • HR Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations;
  • Ability to confidently represent Options for Learning with a mission-driven focus;
  • Organizational skills and vision to lead the HR and Talent Management departments in plan development, goal setting, and achieving measurable outcomes;
  • Proven experience in HR leadership roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector;
  • Decision-making skills and analytical thinking to arrive at logical conclusions;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and external entities;
  • High-level organizational skills;
  • Ability to independently identify problems, needs, and opportunities for improvements and to develop solutions and implement plans/solutions;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications and computerized data management systems;
  • Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively;
  • Active membership in the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) (preferred).
