Chief Operations Officer

This position will work out of the Wardsville branch. The hours are flexible.
Job Summary:
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is a member of the executive leadership team responsible for ensuring the Bank's operational and strategic goals, and associated initiatives are effectively pursued and executed. The COO plays an integral role in the development and execution of the Bank's Strategic Plan.
Through effective leadership, collaboration, and engagement, the COO's primary operating responsibilities include the Bank's core operations, retail branch operations, deposit operations, loan operations, and digital banking operations.
Essential Functions:

• Lead the development and implementation of deposit-related products.
• Accountable for deposit-related product profitability.
• Lead the development or enhancement of the Bank's Digital Banking Services with the primary objectives of improving sales and services, and the overall "customer experience."
• Manage the complete life cycle of the loan portfolio, onboarding, ongoing servicing, quality assurance and operational principles.
• Oversee the daily activities of the loan servicing and administration teams, servicing commercial, mortgage, and consumer loan portfolios.
• Lead initiatives to improve operating efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Participates in development and execution of the Bank's Strategic Plan.
• Serves as a member of the marketing committee and ALCO committees.
• Recommends hires, transfers, terminations, performance standards, evaluations, and development for the Operations Department.
• Maintains effective employee relations and promotes positive employee morale, along with MAB's culture and Core Values.
• Collaborates with leadership to create long-term and short-term operating plans and establishes associated operating and capital budgets.
• Coordinates efforts with the Finance Department on the budget, including monitoring and expense controls.
• Coordinates the opening of new and moving of existing branches and locations including heading the regulatory processes for such changes.
• Oversee the bank's data processing applications, ATM, and electronic funds transfer products.
• Monitor overdraft refunds, deficit account balances, and deposit account collection efforts.
• Oversee the utilization of third-party vendor relationships.
• Understanding of all current and future applicable banking laws and regulations and assists in the development and administration of various bank policies and procedures in order to comply.
• Work with auditors and regulatory examiners as needed during regulatory examinations and comprehensive audits.
• Coordinates with the Risk Management department to ensure the Bank maintains compliance with applicable Federal and State regulations.
• Assist in the development and administration of various bank policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular staff meetings, monthly individual check-ins with direct reports, and training sessions to ensure procedures are properly implemented.
• Assess competitors to ensure products, rates, service levels, etc. are competitive and meet the needs of each individual market.
• Other duties as assigned by President and CEO.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Business Management, Accounting, or another related field.
• Experience operating and managing under "FDICIA requirements" (Section 36 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act and Part 363 of the FDIC's Rules and Regulations) is preferred.
• Experience with Fiserv core system, or other core banking system technology preferred.
• Prefer minimum of 15 years of experience.
• Years of experience may be substituted for education requirements or related work experience.
• This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This includes computer skills, communication skills, as well as utilization of office equipment.
