Your Role
As a Card Services Representative, you will serve as first point of contact for both staff and OURCU members. You get to team up with the Card Services Administrator and Senior Card Services Representative in accomplishing tasks like handling lost or stolen card requests, answering phone requests from both members and staff, make card related outbound calls, return mail, and perform credit and debit card blocks and unblocks. You'll perform basic research regarding questionable transactions and process debit and credit card requests.
Responsibilities and Tasks
In this position, you will:
- Answer member phone calls and assist with walk-in requests. Make outbound calls regarding card compromises and other card related questions and/or issues. Provide members with information and direction regarding their account status and processes opportunities. These requests include but are not limited to blocking, unblocking, and reissuing cards as necessary.
- Process debit and credit card requests; order cards; verify accuracy of cards issued and send members necessary disclosure documents. Maintain and respond to Falcon alerts and email alerts, load travel notifications, and maintain appropriate files.
- Prepare and balance related reports and accounts; maintain related files and control records. You will also do all card balancing, load cards and complete weekly closed account reporting, in relation to the card service department.
- Help educate members and staff on proper card handling to avoid compromise. Identify potential fraud trends and promptly reports findings to the Card Services Administrator and eServices Manager.
- Represent OURCU in a professional and confidential manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills You Bring
Experience
Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
High school degree or GED required.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in this position. You should be comfortable holding sensitive or confidential in-depth dialogues, conversations and providing explanations to OURCU members, coworkers, and outside vendors, as this will be a normal part of your day-to-day experience. These communications may require you to motivate, influence, educate and/or advise others on matters of significance.
