Outbound Team Lead

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision from the VAS / INTL Supervisor, the Team Leader for this group is responsible for overseeing the preparation and execution of the shipping aspects & document preparation of the business supporting the INTL channels and providing assistance to team members where needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor inbound conveyor line to ensure that product is flowing smoothly with no overload or backlog
• Monitor & assist in the sorting of outbound shipments
• Adjust staff within the environment to ensure adequate coverage based on priorities
• Collaborate with other Leaders to support the team, as it relates to partners in the business ex. Wave processing / Picking process
• Assist in managing break & lunch schedules for team
• Assist in tracking attendance – late starts / early departures
• Heavy focus on accuracy of shipping documents to include but not limited to: Commercial Invoices / Shippers Letter of Instructions / Certificate of Origin
• Prepare documents for appropriate stamping as required by local Chamber of Commerce
• Tracing discrepancies to see where errors have occurred
• Segregating truck shipments from small parcel carrier shipments. Palletizing these shipments for delivery, as needed.
• Responsible for tracking air and overnight shipments through the system to ensure they are shipped by the appropriate cut-off times
• Support initiatives to improve service & time in processing for the INTL channels
• Manage start date & cancel date – when required by customer, to ensure ship on time
• Notifying supervisor of process errors or team member deficiencies
• Use pallet jack / carts to move orders to appropriate packing / shipping & staging locations location
• Train team members on processes in department
• Support 5S initiatives and Process Improvement
• Ensure best housekeeping practices are being obtained
• Ensure all working tools are in place and accounted for
• Report any unsafe conditions to leadership
• Required to lift, twist, reach with hands and arms, and stand for long periods of time on concrete flooring up to 8 hours per day.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent along with 3-5 years working in a high volume distribution facility.
• Knowledge of RF units and WMS systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English. Excellent communication skills are required.
• Basic computer skills required to pull production reports and inventory records.

Pay Range: $20 - $23 per hour
