Tesla is looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented design technician to use Industrial Engineering and Lean Principles for manufacturing processes at the Lathrop Megafactory. Through a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and extensive collaboration with internal and external teams, the design technician will help improve processes to increase overall KPI’s (EX: Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost, etc.). Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on a critical subsystem of an incredibly exciting product.
- Manage work request from PC Operations to ensure timely delivery of products on the line
- Set up configurations to support the line, warehouse and overall operations
- Perform special project assignments, as directed by manager & communicate any opportunities for improvement to him that consist of but not limited to rack building, parts presentation, layout, MFS, BOM, MLS, excel calculations, etc
- Collaborate with Production, PC operations, NPI, Metrology, QI and cross-functional support teams to identify any factory constraints and execute solutions accordingly
- Ability to prepare diagrams to illustrate workflow, product routing, floor layouts, material handling, and equipment utilization
- Ability to collect statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize process
- Working knowledge of 5S principles, Work Measurement, JIT, Kanban and Problem-Solving Methods
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds
- Possess ability to effectively interact and communicate under difficult situations
- He/she should possess high degree of dedication to a high level of customer satisfaction
- Possess ability to use email, the Internet, and basic computer applications
- CAD experience or other design experience
- Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Associate Degree or postsecondary certificate in Manufacturing Technology, 2+ years experience working as a technician or production lead, or equivalent
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$25.88 - $49.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
