Job Description
The Advanced Engineering Lab at Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) focuses on advanced technology research and development for world-class vehicles, and currently is looking for a motivated CAE engineer to conduct CAE analysis and design optimization for the development of upcoming Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare CAE model from CAD model or modify existing CAE model by using Hypermesh/Ansa.
- Support structural stiffness and strength analyses by running CAE simulations.
- Use FE analysis to guide physical tests plan, develop test matrix, and correlate test results with simulation results.
- Work closely with responsible CAE engineer and support following activities.
- Type: structure stiffness and strength CAE evaluations
- Prepare CAE modeling for the design related to BIW & closures.
- Prepare 1D modeling for Spot weld and other BIW joining connections.
- Prepare 2D shell mesh and 3D Solid meshing for BIW and closures.
- Prepare CAE model from scratch and perform check run.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop designs / design changes to meet Structure CAE targets (durability)
- Collaborate with body structures and moving/closures team.
- Participate in weekly CAE meeting to coordinate CAE models/projects.
- Create technical reports per provided guidelines and present to all collaborating teams as needed.

Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in using CAE analysis software of Abaqus.
- 1 years of experience in using Pre & Post CAE modeling software, e.g., Ansa and HyperWorks.
- Technical report preparation experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimum guidelines.
- Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record

Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on experience on Body CAE analysis for automotive BIW/Closures
- Experience using CAE analysis software of FE-Safe and Nastran.
- Experience in modeling full vehicle.
- CATIA experience.
