Job DescriptionPre-process and post-process finite element mesh models of Sika Reinforcer solutions to support the CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) analysis process at Sika’s customers. Must understand how Sika materials are “converted” into material Cards for CAE use. Be able to interpret results of simulation (including but limited to, strain energy plots, deformation patterns, load analysis, animations, etc.) to support the design optimization process of the parts proposed, including deliberate changes in geometry and application strategy of Sika materials. Summarize results and solution proposals in a report format suitable to review by those not skilled in the field of CAE but need to understand why Sika’s proposed changes are required. Support Sika in its competitive efforts to win new business by optimizing and reducing part mass and improving performance. Support manufacturability and cost optimization. Interface with customer and represent Sika in the field of CAE with respect to application of Sika products and materials. Telecommuting is allowed. Travel up to 10% of the time is required to Sika offices and client sites
QualificationsJob Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in modeling (meshing) and post processing analysis.
Must have at least three (3) years of experience with the following:
- Create models in FE software.
- Testing and characterization of non-metallic materials.
- Read and interpret dynamic FE modeling results.
- Experience with Hyperworks, Optistruct, and LS-Dyna software.
- Automotive body structures and systems.
- Microsoft applications including Word and Power Point.
- Project and time management to adhere to required deadlines.
Telecommuting is allowed. Travel up to 10% of the time is required to Sika offices and client sites.
