WITHIN YOUR TEAM
This individual is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material supporting production the Elk Grove, Illinois facility. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. The Buyer Planner will report directly to the Director of Operations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a "plan for every part" for approximately 2,000 active SKU's. Assist other associates in developing "plan for every part".
• Analyze data, identify, develop and implement monthly PD countermeasures to improve delivery and inventory targets.
• Driving forward our Lean Conversion by implementing consignment, kanban, just-in-time, postponement, and other materials strategies to reduce inventory while increasing delivery.
• Identify and appropriately address materials supply issues. Assist others in resolving complex supply issues.
• Lead the implementation of standard work processes by updating or developing standard operating procedures.
• Effectively manage material requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), product End of Life (EOL) or product End of Support (EOS). Including leading the assessment if E&O disposition for all product lines and insuring data is updated in Oracle.
• Create and support BOM's in the Oracle environment.
• Work closely with Quality and Global Procurement to manage supplier requirements and expectations.
• Participate in the Daily Management process by taking full ownership of exceeding delivery and inventory targets.
• Provide materials support by coordinating and scheduling material purchase orders based on MRP output and evaluation of reports.
• Provide support to the manufacturing line by resolving all material issues in a timely manner and interfacing with materials group, customer service, quality, and suppliers to insure all customer needs are met or exceeded.

• Complete other duties as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/BA degree preferred or 2-3 years of equivalent professional experience in buying and planning function.
• Distribution or Manufacturing environment experience.
• Understand problem solving techniques, waste reduction, root cause analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, schematics, BOM, etc.
• Understand the fundamentals and principles of material planning and control.
• Experience working in ISO environment.
• Pull system/kanban system working knowledge required/ implementation preferred.
• Excellent Communication/ Presentation Skills
• PC skills required, specifically MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• International experience preferred.
• Able to work on multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
• ERP experience, preferably Oracle.
• Basic understanding of MRP, cycle counts, BOM's, ECO process, item attributes, etc.
