Position Summary:
ASC has over 50 years in business as a leader in the material handling and rigging industry and is looking to add a Buyer/Planner to the team. ASC provides rigging products and services to companies across the nation and is headquartered in East Hazel Crest, IL. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, and service to meet the productions needs and customers' requirements. This role evaluates and analyzes supplier quotes, price changes on the material and ensures orders are delivered on time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the inventory level for ASC location, ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing and other important data.
- Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders.
- Prepare report on purchasing activities and product usage.
- Update PO confirmation when receiving from suppliers.
- Review wire rope activities and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Run a bi-weekly report for sales team.
- Understand Surcharge and update surcharge on timely.
- Forecast and planning for stock products.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management, any rigging shop related experience preferred.
- Must have 5+ years of experience in purchasing and planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
