Position Summary:
The Planner/Buyer is responsible for, but not limited to, performing operational Supply Chain Management activities in the following functional areas: distribution, receiving, purchasing, and planning. The Buyer/Planner will also be responsible to use personal computer applications, designated ERP system and general office and warehouse equipment while performing the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to verbally communicate with other associates. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
Work Environment:

Position Summary:
The Planner/Buyer is responsible for, but not limited to, performing operational Supply Chain Management activities in the following functional areas: distribution, receiving, purchasing, and planning. The Buyer/Planner will also be responsible to use personal computer applications, designated ERP system and general office and warehouse equipment while performing the job.
Essential / Key Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain supplier relationships for assigned raw materials. Oversee timely delivery and inventory levels while maintaining plant goals and objectives
- Oversee the internal flow of raw materials from point of purchase thru release to the end user or customer
- Process and maintain raw material data, purchase orders and receipts in ERP system
- Provide ERP/Inventory support to Customer Service, QA, Inventory, Finance, AP and Logistic Departments
- Maintain measurement data in relation to Plant and Departmental performance objectives
- Suggest methods for improving inventory process flows as it relates to equipment, information/data collection and processes
- Assist Materials Manager and Senior Planner/Buyer in day to day activities
- General data / documentation review
- Understand and follow the established corporate safety standard, local facility operating procedures and safety policies
- Follow Quality Systems Regulations and established procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in math
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and relay department requirements to other areas or staff
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational and independent working skills
- Working knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures
- Ability to work in areas that contain radioactive materials
Required Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma
- Background in materials management, distribution and receiving
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably JDE)
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- B.A or B.S. in any field
- Certified Supply Chain Professional
- 2-5 years' work experience in a logistics/materials management environment
- Intermediate experience with ERP systems (preferably JDE)
