Position: Responsible for all activities involved with product sales planning, product marketing, and product purchasing for lumber products. This position requires an exceptional skillset specific to all lumber species and the market mechanics of pricing/availability, quality, and product life cycle. Position requires collaboration with director of purchasing, product management, general managers, inside and outside sales teams. This role ensures Parksite revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met, including product and marketing efforts that support Parksite's overall corporate strategy and goals. Parksite requires this position is involved with the development of sales objectives including channel specific programs, marketing, advertising, while understanding the fiscal responsibility of Parksite's financial objectives. This role may include additional product line ordering on a smaller scale.

Responsibilities:

- Reviews proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

- Estimates sales values according to knowledge of market price.

- Coordinate marketing plans with product management to include; market development, sales promotion, channel pricing, revenue and profit forecasts and market trends / potential.

- Maintains computerized procurement records, such as item maintenance and services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and stocking inventories.

- Collaborates with suppliers to obtain product and or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

- Prepare to buy all forecasted and or demand based stocking inventory to match individual branch expected demand, including lead time and safety stock factors.

- Manages timely product review cycles for all locations and prepares purchase orders.

- Determines method of procurement, such as into Parksite warehouses and or direct purchase.

- Implement supplier cost adjustments and input into ERP system.

- Implement customer pricing and input into ERP system.

- Assists Purchasing team in cleaning up all data for consistency in ERP system.

- Communicate with supplier on changes in specification, change orders, quantities and adjustments.

- Utilizes project management skills to facilitate and coordinate special tasks, projects and programs.

- Support development and documentation of processes and controls.

- Support electronic exchange of data with our suppliers and other facilities.

- Support the function for any corporate-wide cost reduction program.

- Analyzes data to ensure integrity; and communicates effectively on changes in developing trends.

- Prepare periodic reports for senior management from the collected data based on personal knowledge and experience without direction or prior review.

- Support price negotiations and supplier consolidation decisions.

- Support business planning development including re-forecasts with numbers supported by the ERP system.

- Approve invoices for payment.

- Expedite delivery of goods to warehouse or direct customers.

- Transfer slow moving or surplus inventory to locations before making another purchase from a supplier.

- Arrange return of merchandise when necessary.

- Respond to various departments within the organization who may need information regarding suppliers, products, deliveries, etc.

- Actively follow-up and track purchase orders, communicating changes and status to requestors while managing vendor performance to delivery schedules, pricing terms and conditions and other contract provisions.

- Create Excel reports to join data from ERP system into a single report.

- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection along with logistics personnel, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

- Report against benchmarks.

- Other duties that may arise in the normal course of business, from the Director of Purchasing.


Experience / Education:

- A minimum of 3 years procurement/supply chain background in distribution environment.

- Building material industry knowledge, purchasing experience, preferred.

- Bachelors degree in Business or Certified Supply Chain Professional preferred

- 3+ years experience working with ERP systems


Skills & Competencies:

- Computer skills including Excel, Word.

- Must have excellent organization skills

- Ability to prioritize and multi-task, and professionally interact with all levels of the organization.

- Computer utilization skills for the preparation and presentation of reports and the management of data pertinent to the sourcing function, including Microsoft Office programs.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills


Physical Requirements/Environment:

- Office environment, Business casual dress.
