Avery Dennison is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner who will report to the Global Supply Chain Director for our Reflective Solutions business. You will be an important contributor to a fast growing business that is a leading manufacturer of life saving innovative reflective solutions that make the world's roadways safer. You will work collaboratively with cross functional teams to conduct demand analysis within the global Reflective Solutions business with a focus on replenishing regional inventory to meet customer demand.

This position is based at our Mt. Prospect, IL site in the Chicago area.

Job Responsibilities :

The Senior Buyer/Planner is involved in improving the efficiency of our value chain, from raw materials to customer delivery. As part of a diverse team supporting our global Reflective Solutions business, you will work cross-functionally to improve processes that positively impact the customer, asset management, and profitability across our global regions.

This key role will oversee and manage the plant material flow to support Operations by buying, planning, implementing and monitoring the overall supply chain strategy to improve efficiency and production for the Reflective sheeting business. This role will have regular cross functional collaboration with Operations, Customer Service, and R&D.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Raw materials planning, purchasing and Inventory management:

• Drive materials planning for both short term and long term with all suppliers.
• Create and maintain supplier stocking strategies and/or VMI programs
• Issue supplier POs to ensure optimized inventory level and manage supplier production schedule and delivery to meet plant and customer needs.
• Support global S&OP planning process and inventory management
• Participates in the plant physical inventory process, when needed

1. Supplier management

• Build and maintain good relationships and lasting partnerships with global supply base
• Collaborate with Global Procurement to maintain supplier pricing tables.
• Establish and maintain the accuracy of supplier and material master data
• Engage suppliers through regular supplier meetings and generate supplier performance scorecard
• Gain insights into industry trends and supplier operations

1. Projects

• Initiate or lead efforts in projects on planning optimization, inventory reduction, service improvement and supply chain processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis
• Support product transitions and new product introductions
• Support cost out analysis
