The Business Development Specialist (BDS) will be asked to perform tasks and activities to grow RVCU membership, primarily in the Dekalb, Sycamore, and Rochelle areas. This will include items such as deposits and loans, networking in the community, connecting with area businesses, presenting financial education learning sessions, developing, implementing, and managing a bank-at-work program for employer groups, and attending/planning/organizing community events as a representative of RVCU. The BDS will have quarterly growth goals and will be expected to contribute to RVCU's overall strategic plan to grow the credit union, primarily in the Dekalb, Sycamore, and Rochelle areas.

Essential Job Functions
• Collaboration: Collaborates with the Director of Marketing & Community Relations in discussions and strategies relevant to RVCU's marketing and Business Development. Participates in providing the marketing team with Business Development growth strategies to help achieve the credit union's goals and objectives. Participates and collaborates in meetings and discussions with RVCU's financial coaches for financial presentations.
• Projects and Assignments: Partner with other businesses, communities, and key stakeholders to grow membership deposits and loan growth. Develop content and assets for the Bank at Work Program. Plans and coordinates events and sponsorships. Identifies opportunities for RVCU's business goals. Responsible for completing goals/rocks/assignments timely and efficiently.
• Focus on Purpose/Mission: Focused on the credit union's purpose of making a positive impact on others and RVCU's mission to educate members and the community, build deeper relationships, and provide exceptional service - all of which contribute to credit union growth.
• Business and Brand Development: Visit various companies and businesses to create and maintain relationships and host financial education workshops that promote overall financial wellness. Represent and organize various community events to actively promote the credit union. Develop membership opportunities through bank at work programs.
• Core Process, Policies, and Procedures: Responsible for following marketing and credit union processes, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Community Advocate: Serves as a representative of the credit union and is actively and routinely visible and involved in the community.

Requirements
• Education equivalent to bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field• Experience equivalent to 1-3 years of marketing or Business Development related experience
• Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
• Obtain FiCep Certification within 1 year of employment.
• This is a full-time position with partial remote flexibility after a training period
