- Established relationships with individuals or organizations within the behavioral health industry
- Versatility to cold call into new relationships as well as maintain and cultivate existing relationships
- Familiarity with establishing relationships and be comfortable speaking with hospitals, medical doctors, psychiatrists, interventionists, Employee Assistance Programs, addiction/mental health treatment centers, and therapists in a clinical sales process
- Experience in identifying market opportunities while developing, planning, implementing and following through with action plans to grow admissions and the overall brand of the treatment center
- Flexibility in their ability to adapt the territory plan to fit the needs of the geographic market and overall landscape of the behavioral healthcare industry
- Ability to exercise professionalism in a manner that reflects a positive image for the organization, as well as the individual candidate, by exhibiting ethics, attention to detail, availability, dependability and a heart of service for those in need of recovery from addiction and mental health disorders
- Develop a strategic plan for creating new business relationships and strengthening existing relationships leading to increased referrals and admissions into the treatment center
- Actively prospect, cold call (on the phone and face-to-face) continuously to expand individual's and company's contact list and brand awareness
- Provide excellent follow-up with prospects and existing relationships
- Exemplify an attitude of service and availability for referral sources and patients being referred for treatment services
- Observe and identify market opportunities and challenges
- Develop, plan, implement and follow through with action plans to positively influence opportunities and challenges in candidate’s geographic area and broader behavioral healthcare landscape
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for admissions and leads into the treatment center
- Minimum 2 years of Business Development experience in the behavioral healthcare industry
- Degree from an accredited university or college preferred
