Business Development
We are looking for the right fit to manage our existing Commercial Customers, make calls to existing and prospective commercial customers, and be an active member of the community as a representative of Mr. Handyman Wheaton-Hinsdale.
The Role
Hiring Immediately - As a full-time Business Development representative, your role will be to develop relationships with prospective and existing customers. You will be the point person for our commercial customers and attend Business Development events regularly. You will be both an inside and outside sales team member as you enhance brand awareness through calls, meetings, attending events, and effective communication with customers, team members, and supervisors.
The Responsibilities
- Make monthly calls to existing major commercial customers and make quarterly calls to all existing commercial customers.
- Meet face to face with existing Local Commercial customers quarterly to enhance brand awareness.
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and opportunities for business growth.
- Generate new business and help grow existing customer base by completing at minimum the below:
- Attend 3 events (minimum) weekly with existing connections through Chamber of Commerce, Business Associations, as well as expand into other Chambers and Business Associations.
- Make 150 touchpoint (voice to voice) calls monthly to prospective customers.
- Negotiating and completing contracts/vendor packets.
- Partner with team to ensure customer satisfaction with Mr. Handyman and timely delivery of services.
- Any other duties as assigned by manager or owner.
The Qualifications
- Highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to speak publicly with confidence and poise.
- Proven ongoing account management and support to ensure customer retention.
- Proven experience with technology, sales, technical sales, or related field.
- Enhanced sense of self-motivation, dignity, and resolve.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- One year inside sales experience required.
- Previous outside sales experience preferred.
- Previous Business Development experience preferred.
- Driver’s License Required. Clean driving record, to be insured on company vehicle.

Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm
- Weekends as needed for special events (approx. 3-5 annually)
- Evenings as needed for events.
- In the office 2-3 days per week and on the road within our service territory 2-3 days per week.
- 50% travel required in local territory.
