The Business Development ManagerSkin Creative will work closely with all parts of the organization to conduct the following across all Skin Creative sectors:


  • Creation of all channel strategic plan execution and opportunity drivers (i.e. innovation, portfolio optimization, trade investment, trade activation, etc.)
  • Strategic alignment across business with strong customer focus and ensuring Sales have all levers needed to exceed their commitments (NS, MS, and GP)
  • Leadership responsibility in implementation for BIC sales team and modeler of customer centricity
  • Creation of sales materials & coordination across functions, including Marketing and Supply
  • Driver of sales results, reviewing gaps and opportunities and making adjustments to strategy as needed
  • Plans developed must be relevant for customers and this individual will be fully responsible to ensure that this is a reasonable solution (not just something that works for BIC)
  • Creation of a clear and comprehensive view of the business opportunity, provide real-time actionable insights and identify trends that allow the development of business building strategies with our customers
  • Develop financial scenarios based on key business initiatives and acceleration of investments – requires a keen understanding of trade spend dynamics and ways to improve our investment efficiencies.
  • Full P&L responsibility

What You’ll Do:


Channel Growth Maximizer

  • Develop and execute the omni-channel channel strategy for all categories (includes Food, Drug, Mass, C&G, Club, White Space, e Comm, and DTC) and all channels maximization, market share strategy and delivering the opportunities
  • Provide sales “ammunition” to gain share in each account
  • Develop Category /BIC sales materials with marketing and distribute to field
  • Track sales progress to identify and deliver what’s needed to drive business
  • Ensure strategy driven from a shopper lens with focus on 4P’s
  • Work with customer finance on proforma P&L scenarios to maximize new opportunities and negotiations with key retail partners
  • Senior and Executive Leadership presentation development and engagement

Category Sales Fundamentals

  • Develop and deliver Off Invoice Sales, Net Sales and BDF budgets
  • Develop and execute Sales fundamentals
  • Develop trade fund strategy and budgets for top customers and channels; final approver of all price exceptions
  • Ensure sales teams implementation of strategy
  • Appropriately challenge sales teams and influence Sales teams to provide solutions
  • Craft sales negotiations for sales teams that is a win for both customer and BIC
  • Portfolio management through approval of custom projects, establishing SPR guidelines, and collaborating with sales, finance, PED, and marketing on efficiencies.
  • SKU rationalization across all channels with ongoing review of add/deletes to maximize efficiencies within portfolio for profitability, inventory turns, and customer requirements
  • Final alignment on consensus forecast at topline and product family level
  • Create allocation principles and manage customer allocation of supply constrained items with customer service
  • Monitor supply planning risks and develop a communication to sales teams
  • Inform demand planning of category trends and customer changes on an ongoing basis
  • Provide guidance and approvals for promotional plans for sales teams aligning principles with Revenue Growth Management team
  • Customer facing partner to sales teams for sensitive business needs, innovation launches, category expertise, commercial execution initiatives

Category Growth Liaison

  • Core executer for BIC’s sales’ strategy at the category level to ensure category stories are cascaded down to account team and reflected in their plans
  • Collaborate with Marketing Director and Director of Sales to create sales view and with Revenue Growth team to maximize opportunities
  • Align with Marketing Directors and Director of Sales to ensure GTM requirements are fully optimized including assortment needs and business drivers

Marketing Sales Liaison

  • Drive execution of BIC channel strategy by partnering with marketing and maximizing opportunities identified by CTL’s and General manager in timely manner
  • Provide counsel to Sales leadership and coach NAMs on strategy delivery and on channel execution
  • Partner with brand managers on all innovation launches to align commercial execution strategies with channel needs including scenario planning for forecasting and shipment timing
  • Align with brand finance, brand managers, and RGM on portfolio pricing ladders and GP targets on all new item set ups across all channels of trade
  • Identify commercial innovation opportunities
  • Collaborate with brand marketing on allocation of MDF for customer programs and align on GTM strategies within marketing spend
  • Collaboration with GI&I on 3 year growth plan and scenario planning
  • Ability to deal with multiple time horizons (short term, medium term and long term) on a daily basis; requires strong self-organization and an ability to anticipate

What We’re Looking For In You:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ CPG experience in Sales is required
  • Previous experience analyzing sales data, utilizing tools like IRI and/or Nielsen; and being able to be self-sufficient in data analytics
  • Strong leadership and team management skills; ability to influence those who do not work for you directly
  • Experience developing and delivering compelling selling stories/presentations is a must
  • National Account Manager (HQ Call experience) is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional relationship building, and strong project management skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
