Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in the Great Philadelphia, PA Area for a Business Development Representative. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for for establishing and meeting the sales plan for the territory within the framework of the Company, strategy by target market segment and product and within the planned expense budget. The Business Development Representative will collaborate closely with the Territory Sales Representatives and other Business Development Representatives to establish strong relationships with key flooring contractors, builders, and develops to pull-through specifications and secure business opportunities.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Analyzes information and makes daily in-person contact with architecture firms, design firms, developers, flooring contractors, property managers, and building owners.
Works closely with MHCO Territory Sales Representatives & Business Development Representatives to establish relationships with key flooring contractors, builders, developers to pull-through specifications and secure business opportunities.
Implement strategy by conducting knowledge presentations and using MHCO approved sales tools to specify projects.
Responsible for writing resilient flooring specifications with architects, designers, specifiers, and end-users.
Maintains regular in-person daily contact with specifiers of commercial flooring products while establishing new relationships with specifiers to gain sales and market penetration.
Coordinate efforts with vendors and/or manufacturers representatives to maximize market potential.
Responsible for introducing new products and presenting updated information when required through the distribution of announcements, sales and new product bulletins and literature.
Maintains up-to-date data, market status and sales opportunities via the CRM and sales reports and ensures to develop and maintain an accurate database of industry contacts.
Responsible for scheduling Lunch & Learns and CEU presentations.
Attends and works regional trade shows and exhibitions.
Ensures to fulfill requests for sample materials.
Performs job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and experience in the Northeast region construction industry preferred.
3+ years sales experience.
Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must have excellent presentation skills.
Residence within the sales district required.
Ability to travel as required to fulfill sales requirements and/or attend meetings.
