Back on My Feet is a dedicated to empowering individuals experiencing homelessness or addiction to achieve economic independence through fitness and community. As a dedicated nonprofit, we strive to make a positive impact in our community through the support on volunteers and partner corporations. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Development Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in advancing our mission through effective fundraising strategies.
The Senior Development Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing comprehensive fundraising programs to support the financial sustainability and growth of Back on My Feet. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication and relationship-building skills, who can effectively engage donors, cultivate partnerships, and secure funding to further our impact. This is a remote position that requires business travel for implementation of job responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning:
- Identify potential funding sources, grant opportunities, and partnerships to diversify revenue streams.
2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
- Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other potential funding sources.
- Create and implement donor stewardship strategies to ensure ongoing engagement and retention.
3. Grant Writing and Proposal Development:
- Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals, grant applications, and reports to secure funding from foundations and government agencies.
4. Fundraising Events:
- Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events to generate support and awareness.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure successful event outcomes.
5. Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor databases.
- Generate regular reports to analyze fundraising performance and provide insights for continuous improvement.
6. Prospecting Pipeline Management:
- Develop and implement a robust prospecting strategy to identify and cultivate potential donors and funding opportunities.
- Conduct research on individuals, corporations, and foundations to assess their philanthropic interests and capacity to contribute.
- Create and maintain a dynamic prospecting pipeline to ensure a steady flow of potential donors for engagement and solicitation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications).
- Proven experience in nonprofit fund development, with a track record of successful fundraising.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing and proposal development.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, partners, and team members.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in fundraising software and Microsoft Office suite.
