Bucks+ Editor in Chief
(Milwaukee, WI)
Good Karma Brands (GKB) is looking for an Editor in Chief to join our Bucks+ team. Bucks+ is first of its kind shared audio platform between the Milwaukee Bucks and Good Karma Brands that will provide Bucks fans around the world with consistent, quality content driven by unique access within the Bucks and a desire to tell stories that aren't already being told. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for storytelling.
Daily Tasks of an Editor in Chief:
- Work to bring a distinctive, compelling, and authentic voice to all Buck+ products.
- Oversee content strategy, programming. and implementation for Bucks+
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to make content compelling and comprehensive.
- Tell and edit stories for journalistic accuracy, audience relevance and tone, including real-time decision-making at various stages of content development.
- Thorough knowledge of fan base; ability to focus the programming to reflect the interests of the audience
- Serving as a key public face for Bucks+
- Main point of contact between Milwaukee Bucks and GKB as it pertains to content of platform
- Mentoring and developing talent
- Opportunity to assist with business development efforts and be part of partner facing meetings
- Knowledgeably optimizing digital content reach and impact
- Be a Good Karma Brands ambassador by adhering to the GKB core values: Listen, Be Honest, Follow Through, Work Hard, Teamwork and Over Deliver
Preferred knowledge, skills, and qualifications:
- Experience working in digital environments, multimedia, and social media.
- Minimum 3 years of Journalism experience
- Experience covering sports teams and comfortability talking to professional athletes, coaches, and executives
- Story telling experience preferred
- Passion and love of the NBA and Milwaukee Bucks
- Audio editing experience required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines
- Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment – a multi-tasker.
- Willingness to accept and provide feedback
- Persistent and driven to succeed even when faced with adversity
Hours/Salary/Benefits
This is an exempt role with a competitive base salary. This role is eligible for full benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401(k) Plan, Dependent Care, paid parental leave, and more with opportunities for salary growth increase with skills and responsibilities and meeting targeted goals. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
