Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant

Located in Rockville, MD, GeneCopoeia is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper with experience in A/P, general ledger, and financial account reconciliations, who can also assist in managing daily administrative activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledger
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
• Enter data, maintain records and financial statements
• Manage daily administrative activities such as filing, answering the phones, etc.

Skills/Requirements:

• Proven bookkeeping experience – at least 2 years is preferred
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Excellent data entry skills
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar platform is preferred
• Proficiency in English and MS Office
• Exceptional organization skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required

Office schedule is Mon-Fri from 9:00AM-12:00Noon or flexible 3 hours (from 1:00-6:30PM)
