JOB DESCRIPTION

The Bookkeeper is a key role on an integrated team of accounting professionals that work together to deliver on kept.pro’s mission: providing small businesses with the financial information and insight they need to compete in their respective industries. The ideal candidate finds joy in processing invoices, coding transactions, completing reconciliations, preparing payroll and other similar processes we complete on a weekly basis for each of our clients. The Bookkeeper appreciates the importance of creating and maintaining process documentation, and doing so within Google Workspace. This role is comfortable with a high email volume and leans into technology to work efficiently and collaboratively.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing accounting functions within QuickBooks Online
• Transaction coding
• AP Entry
• AR Invoice Creation
• Compiling, sorting, and preparing documents and reports
• Posting transactions to appropriate accounts
• Monthly reconciliations
• Record prepared journal entries as assigned
• Prepare and enter payroll
• Partnering with a variety of vendors and platforms to complete accounting operations (e.g. expense management software, payroll providers, etc)
• Assisting with 1099 preparation and distribution

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with multiple clients / entities (>10-20), across a variety of industries to deliver bookkeeping or accounting services
• 4+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience
• An Associates Degree in finance, accounting, or related field; or bookkeeping certification
• Proficiency working in QuickBooks Online
• Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and finish projects within deadlines
• Excellent organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain highly self-motivated, organized, and adaptable
• Experience working in a remote environment with a distributed team
• High level of comfort with leveraging tools and technology to collaborate with team members
• Reside within Central time zone
