Job Description
We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic individual to become part of Sonitrol of Sacramento’s team as a bookeeper. This position works closely with the Controller on day to accountng operations and accounting reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a few years of experience or a background in accounting and be committed to learning and growing in the role.
Bookeeper Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record financial transactions with appropriate supporting documentation including posting reclassifications and accruals as necessary.
- Drive month end close process adhering to all internal deadlines.
- Reconcile General Ledger data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Track and research daily transactional activity.
- Maintain fixed assets for the company, including in progress, additions, disposals, and reporting.
- Assist with year-end close processes and annual procedures.
- Process monthly cycle invoicing and change requests to customer accounts,
- Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve operations and productivity.
- Ability to independently navigate through challenges, perform research, and proactively flag risks.
- Resolve and respond to departmental inquiries.
- Ad hoc projects and assist department as requested.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in accounting/finance
- Experience with financial reporting requirements
- Strong Excel skills
