About The Role
We’re looking for a Billing & Credentialing Specialist to join our memorable team. This role is an integral part in providing the excellence our clients deserve and therefore requires a great deal of responsibility, organization, and experience. We need someone who is passionate about implementation and detailed execution of billing related tasks.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Daily Patient Billing
- Submitting & tracking insurance claims
- Resolving denied claims
- Appealing claims when necessary
- Accurately entering client billing information into EHR systems
- Working collaboratively with Practice Manager & Clinicians to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Following up with patients via email/phone regarding outstanding balances
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of billing codes, regulations, and requirements for mental health services
- Conducting Monthly/Quarterly billing audits
- Keeping patient billing accounts accurate & up to date
- Sending invoices, statements & superbills
- Contacting insurance companies to follow up on claims and get information on patient accounts
- Managing insurance credentialing, recredentialing, and contracting process for clinicians and practices
- Verify patient insurance benefit eligibility and copay amounts
- Creating & Updating Standard Operating Procedures related to Billing & Credentialing services
- Submitting weekly billing reports
- Maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Attending regularly scheduled team meetings

- Client satisfaction and customer service is NOT a priority for you
- You don't like talking to people (via Slack, Email, and Zoom/Google Meet)
Time Commitment & Compensation:
- This position is a subcontractor role starting with 10 hours per month at $20/hr with plenty of room for growth
- HIPAA Training Provided
- Schedule can be flexible, as billing duties can primarily be done at anytime. There will be some hours required during typical business hours Monday-Friday (Eastern Time zone) in order to contact insurance companies and coordinate with other team members and clinicians.
