Position Summary: As a Medical Credentialing Specialist at Mid-America Mental Health LLC, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our team of mental health professionals can provide services effectively and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing the entire provider credentialing process, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Your work will directly contribute to the seamless delivery of mental health services to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end provider credentialing process, including initial applications, reappointments, and updates.
- Liaise with medical staff, insurance companies, and regulatory bodies to facilitate the credentialing and privileging of providers.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all credentialing and recredentialing applications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and guidelines related to provider credentialing.
- Conduct thorough verification of provider credentials, licenses, certifications, and insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as HR and Compliance, to ensure alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Keep detailed and organized records of all credentialing activities and provider information.
- Monitor and track expirations of licenses, certifications, and insurance policies, and proactively initiate the renewal process.
- Assist in resolving any credentialing-related issues, discrepancies, or concerns.
- Stay current with changes in healthcare regulations and insurance requirements that may impact provider credentialing.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the credentialing process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in medical credentialing within a healthcare or mental health setting is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with credentialing software and databases.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including those related to credentialing and privileging.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
