Position Title: Assistant Director-ORR

Position Summary

Under the general oversight of the Executive Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for the day to day administration and supervision of the assigned programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Director will perform administrative duties including, but not limited to:

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies.
  • Advocate on behalf of youth and youth service systems via participation in individual and systems advocacy.
  • Promote, encourage, and assist Regional Directors and Managers in developing innovative, cost-effective programs and implementing special projects to better serve troubled and needy youth and their families.
  • Promote performance measurement indicators to insurance the comprehensive needs of the youth and families are met throughout the organization while seeking to standardize best practices and the attainment of evidence based models.
  • Conduct program evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness of agency services to youth and their families.
  • Conduct continuous quality assurance activities in order to ensure effective service delivery to youth and families.
  • Work with the Executive Director to sustain and grow programs and service; including solicitation and submittal of requests for proposals and grants as it pertains to the development of new programs and the expansion of existing NYAP programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to individuals charged with the responsibility for submitting applications, proposals, grants, and/or contracts to licensing, contracting, or funding entities.
  • Manage administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the organization.
  • Support the organization's strategic alliances and partnership.
  • Assist in program development activities including referral agency contacts throughout the state in order to further develop services and referrals to NYAP.
  • Represent NYAP at professional conferences, seek continual professional development, and share acquired knowledge with others via trainings, workshops, and one-on-one mentoring of staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or a related behavioral science field.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the field of youth services.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an administrative and/or supervisory role in youth services.
  • Current Social Work License or equivalent as required by State Law and/or regulatory bodies.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Must demonstrate a sincere commitment to the service and advocacy for youth and families.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.
