Learn more about the Division of Student Affairs here: https://www.northwestern.edu/studentaffairs/about/strategic-plan/strategic-themes.html Job Summary: The Assistant Director for Arts & Programs in Norris University Center, leads, plans, executes, and evaluates programs and services that further student learning, engage the community, and enrich the experience as it relates to Northwestern University. The Assistant Director accomplishes this through oversight of Norris Center Programs, Dittmar Gallery, ARTica Studios, and helping support Norris marketing and social media efforts. Supporting student development, leading and guiding student employees, and engaging students throughout Norris is essential to successfully managing this job.

This role will support arts programs and services throughout Norris with a specific focus on our ceramics and creative studio, and on-site art gallery. Additionally, this role will plan and support a number of annual large-scale programs as well as regular ongoing programs and events. Please note: Position requires an average of one evening or weekend day of work per week; schedule will flex to accommodate.

Up to one remote day per week on average can be scheduled. Pay Range: The pay range for the Assistant Director for Arts & Programs (Norris) position is $62,000-70,000, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity. Principal Accountabilities: Program Development 25% Researches competitor, and state-of-the art developments to enhance, improve, and innovate program curricula and delivery to better meet goals and objectives.

Coordinates with program/project sponsors on the delivery of all onsite instruction and provision of logistical support. Oversee development and implementation of new program/project initiatives. Manages relationships with partners, foundations, etc.

Develops, maintains, and reports on quantitative and qualitative performance measures. Oversees documentation of agreements between NU and partner organizations, ensuring that agreements are completed, appropriately reviewed, approved, and adhered to by all parties. Acts as liaison to IT to ensure technology systems are properly installed and maintained and meet the informational, analytical and computing needs of users.

Issues work order requests for maintenance, repairs and upgrades. Communication, Outreach, Recruitment 20% Ensures program/project success in regard to revenue and expense goals including recruitment, participation, etc. Creates and implements program/project brand identity and marketing and advertising strategy.

Ensures that all advertising and marketing materials accurately represent programs. Supervision 20% Supervises one part time staff, one graduate student staff and 10+ student employees Manages recruitment, application evaluation, interview, selection of new employees Implements a department strategy for structure, process, and staff support of student employees Budgets and Financial 10% Oversees accurate, efficient, and compliant workflow of all transactional processes across areas/units. Creates and oversees finances, budget, associated analyses, and reports.

Creates/enhances internal daily, monthly, and annual processes and training. Reviews exceptions forms and reimbursements that require special attention. Develops fees, charges, recharge rates, etc.
