Job Description
General Summary:
The Behavioral Research Coordinator III works directly with the Behavioral Research Coordinator Lead and Principal Investigator to carry out day-to-day research activities for several research studies centering women's reproductive and sexual health. The research portfolio aims to increase PrEP uptake for HIV prevention among cisgender women. Based on specific research program needs, patient facing vs. data administrative responsibilities will vary. The Behavioral Research Coordinator III will follow a hybrid schedule with up to 2 remote days per week as workload allows and dependent upon project needs.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Coordinates multiple and/or more complex Behavioral Research protocols. Coordinates study conduct with collaborating sites to effectively implement research projects.
2. Assists in the preparation of budgets and fund management as needed.
3. Assists in the training of personnel for role in study conduct; maintains delegation of authority and training logs.
4. Identifies and recruits eligible study participants; conducts informed consent/assent process.
5. Leads delivery of behavioral interventions, qualitative data collection, and or quantitative data collection.
6. Evaluates new protocols for feasibility.
7. Manages site visits and responds to sponsor queries/requests promptly.
8. Prepares for and facilitates external audits by sponsor, regulatory agencies (OHRP, FDA, etc.).
9. Participates in evaluation and process improvement for research studies and/or processes.
10. Prepares study invoices and study billing.
11. Functions as a mentor/resource to other research professionals.
12. Collaborates on the preparation of abstracts/posters for scientific meetings and manuscripts for publication.
13. Presents research/data at national meeting via posters, presentations, etc.
14. With the PI, ensures study activities are performed in accordance with the protocol and all applicable institutional and federal regulations.
15. Assists investigators with submission of required documents to regulatory authorities (e.g., FDA) when applicable.
16. Leads QA/QC checks for database validity and data monitoring.
17. Tracks deadlines for grants/deliverables.
18. Verifies participant eligibility.
19. Develops codebooks for data dictionaries.
20. Assists PI with grant preparation and reporting.
21. May perform independent statistical analysis.
22. Abstracts data from medical records and enters medical information/data onto protocol specific case report forms, study flow sheets, and other required study forms; prepares abstracted/coded data for processing/analysis.
23. Oversees reimbursement of study participants and administration of study incentives under supervision.
24. Adheres to research protocol in compliance with applicable institutional, local, and federal regulations.
25. Promotes the ethical conduct of research by actively participating in research related educational meetings/conferences (planning, presenting, etc.).
26. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation,
service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients.
QA/QC checks for database validity and data monitoring.
Other job functions as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Master's degree in a related field required. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience is directly related to the duties of the job.
2. Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in Behavioral Research required.
3. Previous experience as a Research Coordinator required.
4. Familiarity with the HIV prevention, family planning, or women's sexual health preferred.
5. Knowledge of research methods and study regulation.
6. Knowledge and ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research methods preferred.
7. Previous experience with supervision and/or mentorship preferred.
8. Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams across multiple institutions.
9. Strong organizational and communication skills required.
10. Ability to exercise good professional judgement, confer with manager as appropriate, and strong attention to detail required.
11. Expectation to work occasional nights and weekends, at clinical sites and community settings. Ability to travel to clinical sites and community settings.
12. Familiarity with REDCap and Microsoft applications.
