Banquet Cook
We are seeking a talented, creative, and passionate Banquet Cook for our kitchen team. This includes being responsible for maintaining, organizing, and keeping inventory of all food, assisting with food preparation, and working directly under the Chef de Cuisine and Sous chef.

Job Duties

  • Works directly under the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Kitchen Manager, and Sous Chef who are responsible for/in charge of the kitchen in its entirety.
  • Assist and inform Chef in the maintaining, organization, and keeping inventory of all food
  • Receives food and supply orders and ensures completeness of order and top quality of items.
  • Inform Chef when products received are not up to standards
  • After receiving each week’s ROS, responsible for executing assigned prep lists.
  • Assist and taste in food preparation to ensure food adheres to the standards of quality
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Takes initiative to consolidate and discard /use expiring product
  • Ensures all food is prepared and served in a timely, organized, and efficient way
  • Ensure all safe food-handling procedures are being demonstrated at all times
  • Assist in all food preparation wherever needed by the Chef de Cuisine i.e., hotel meals, pastry, private dinners, and events

Requirements

  • Must have strong experience in a fine dining kitchen, ideally a catering kitchen.
  • Must have a passion for farm-to-table cuisine, a love for the kitchen, and a strong desire to join our kitchen team
  • Must have an extraordinary palate and strong interest in food trends and quality
  • Must be detail oriented, extremely organized and great at time management
  • Must have excellent knife skills and cooking techniques, ideally with experience in cooking exceptional food for very large groups.
  • Must be extremely hard working and willing to work long hours during the high season, depending on the magnitude of the event.
  • Must be professional, patient, adaptable, enthusiastic and cheerful (we like to have fun in our kitchen!)
  • Must be able to commute to work and live relatively close by.
