Assistant Director of Banquets & Events
Location: New York, NY
Full-Time
Responsibilities:
● Assist in overseeing all aspects of banquet events.
● Manage and train banquet team members under the direction of the Director of Banquets.
● Coordinate pre-event preparations, including assigning duties and conducting meetings.
● Supervise day-of event operations to ensure smooth execution and exceptional service.
● Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
● Collaborate with various departments to facilitate event logistics and communication.
● Design and implement efficient floor plans to optimize space utilization.
● Conduct server training sessions and oversee staff performance.
● Assist in administrative tasks such as payroll management and record-keeping.
● Travel to different venues as required to support event operations.
Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree preferred.
● CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
● Minimum five years of banquet service experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
● Excellent communication and leadership skills.
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
● Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
● Flexible schedule availability to accommodate event needs.
