Job Title:  BAA/DUA Contracts Specialist

Job Summary:

Work in a dynamic regulatory compliance environment that strives to efficiently and effectively manage the operational components of research, with a specific focus on data sharing. This service-based resource is critical infrastructure that enables the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus to meet its research mission through the translational research pipeline. This position that will be assigned to manage all aspects of contract administration related to the review and negotiation of data sharing and similar types of agreements. The individual may also provide general assistance in other areas as required and will be assigned to various office tasks as work volume requires. The individual will report to the Director of Conflict of Interest and Privacy. The incumbent may also work and cross train with the Clinical Research Administration Office for the purpose of providing additional backup and to ensure consistency with University policies and contracting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract negotiation process management

  • Serve as a Contracts Administrator for the Office of Regulatory Compliance located on the Anschutz Medical campus.
  • Provide oversight and responsibility for data sharing requests received via data sharing portal
  • Upon initial review and redline of terms and conditions for agreements, provide draft agreement to outside party for their review.
  • Respond to correspondence and send to reviewer for additional review, input or clearance to start signatures.
  • Manage the signature process by using tools such as Adobe sign, Docusign, or other signature methods.
  • Appropriately identify and escalate issues for additional review.
  • Assure a fully executed copy of the document is provided to all parties.
  • Upon full execution of the document, assure file is up to date. 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with appropriate faculty, staff, and others to ensure comprehension of final set of terms and conditions.
  • Manage all aspects of document retention and record keeping.
  • Provide primary oversight for data sharing emails received int the general purpose email box.

Process Development 10%

  • Participate with other team members regarding development of practices and procedures in areas in need of development/improvement.
  • Help identify, discuss, and solve workflow issues common to the contracts process.

Special Projects 

  • Assistance is provided by attending meetings, researching issues, and drafting reports. Assist with special projects as assigned

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1 day per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of professional level experience in a fast paced, high volume customer service or support role.  

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. (A certificate from an accredited paralegal training program and 2 years of relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education grants and contracts administration
  • Experience with research and other types of contracts.

  • Work in a high-volume office with deadlines
  • Understand and interpret applicable laws, policies, regulations, rules, guidelines, etc

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,936 -  $67,334

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
